Step-by-Step Guides to Get Connected
Setting up your connection for the first time?
The Setup Guides section provides step-by-step instructions to help you correctly install, configure, and start using your 3Mintel service.
Here, you can find guidance for eSIM installation, APN configuration, mobile data and roaming settings, and connection checks after setup.
eSIM Installation and Activation
To install and activate your eSIM, follow the basic steps below.
1. Check Your Device
Make sure your device supports eSIM and is not carrier-locked.
2. Prepare Your QR Code
Prepare the eSIM QR Code provided after registering for the service.
3. Add the eSIM to Your Device
Open your device’s mobile network settings and select the option to add an eSIM or mobile plan.
H3: 4. Scan the QR Code
Scan the QR Code and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
5. Select the eSIM for Mobile Data
Once the installation is complete, select the newly added eSIM as your mobile data line.
6. Activate the Connection
Turn on Mobile Data and Data Roaming if required by your service plan.
7. Check Your Internet Connection
Try accessing the Internet to confirm that the eSIM is working correctly.
Important Notes
- Do not delete the eSIM after installation unless instructed by 3Mintel.
- Depending on the service, the QR Code may only be usable once.
- The displayed steps may vary depending on the device and operating system version.
- If the eSIM has been installed but there is still no connection, refer to the Troubleshooting page.
APN Configuration on iOS
In some cases, an iOS device may require APN configuration before mobile data can be used.
1. Open Settings
Open the Settings app on your device.
2. Select Mobile Data / Cellular
Go to Mobile Data / Cellular.
3. Select the SIM or eSIM in Use
Choose the SIM or eSIM you want to use for mobile data.
4. Open APN Settings
Select Mobile Data Network / Cellular Data Network if this option is available on your device.
5. Enter the APN Information
Enter the APN information provided by 3Mintel accurately:
- APN
- Username, if required
- Password, if required
6. Save the Settings
After entering the information, return to the previous screen so the device can save the settings.
7. Turn On Mobile Data
Enable Mobile Data and Data Roaming if required by your service plan.
8. Check the Connection
Turn Mobile Data off and on again, or restart your device, then try accessing the Internet.
Important Notes
- The APN information must match the service plan you are using.
- Menu names may vary depending on the iOS version.
- If Mobile Data Network / Cellular Data Network is not displayed, the APN may be configured automatically.
- If the settings are correct but you still cannot connect, refer to the Troubleshooting page.
APN Configuration on Android
The location and names of APN settings may vary depending on the device manufacturer and Android version.
1. Open Settings
Open the Settings app on your device.
2. Open Mobile Network Settings
Depending on your device, select one of the following:
- Network & Internet
- Connections
- Mobile Network
3. Select the SIM or eSIM in Use
If your device uses multiple SIMs or eSIMs, select the correct line to configure.
4. Open Access Point Names
Go to Access Point Names / APN.
5. Create a New APN
Select Add / New APN to create a new configuration.
6. Enter the APN Information
Enter the APN information provided by 3Mintel:
- APN
- Username, if required
- Password, if required
- Any additional parameters if required
7. Save and Select the APN
Save the configuration and make sure the newly created APN is selected for use.
8. Turn On Mobile Data
Enable Mobile Data and Data Roaming if required.
9. Check the Connection
Restart the mobile data connection or the device, then try accessing the Internet.
Important Notes
- Menu names may vary between device manufacturers.
- APN information must be entered accurately.
- If multiple APNs are saved on the device, make sure the correct one is selected.
- If you still cannot connect, refer to the Troubleshooting page.
Mobile Data and Roaming Settings
To use mobile data correctly, check the Mobile Data and Data Roaming settings on your device.
1. Select the Correct SIM or eSIM
If your device has multiple SIMs or eSIMs, make sure the 3Mintel line is selected for mobile data.
2. Turn On Mobile Data
Enable Mobile Data / Cellular Data.
3. Turn On Data Roaming if Required
Enable Data Roaming if required by your service plan or instructed by 3Mintel.
4. Check the APN
If Mobile Data is turned on but there is still no Internet connection, check the APN configuration.
5. Refresh the Connection
If necessary, try:
- Turning Mobile Data off and on again
- Turning Airplane Mode on and off
- Restarting the device
Important Notes
- Only enable Data Roaming when required by the service.
- On dual-SIM devices, make sure the correct SIM/eSIM is selected for mobile data.
- Menu names may vary depending on the device and operating system.
Check Your Connection After Setup
After completing the setup, follow the checks below to confirm that the connection is working properly.
Check the Network Signal
Make sure your device has a network signal and is not displaying “No Service” or “Emergency Calls Only.”
Check the Mobile Data Line
Make sure the 3Mintel SIM/eSIM is selected for Mobile Data / Cellular Data.
Check Mobile Data and Data Roaming
Confirm that Mobile Data is turned on and Data Roaming is enabled if required.
Check the APN
Make sure the APN information is correct and that the correct APN is selected.
Test Internet Access
Open a browser or another app that requires an Internet connection to test connectivity.
Refresh the Connection if Necessary
If there is still no Internet connection, try:
- Turning Mobile Data off and on again
- Turning Airplane Mode on and off
- Restarting the device
- Waiting a few minutes for the device to reconnect to the network
Try a Different Location
If the signal is weak, move to another location and test the connection again.
